I'm in love with Christy & Josh's engagement session - and I don't think that's going to go away anytime soon. Not only did we have the most spectacular mountain views, but Christy and Josh have sweet chemistry that makes photographing oh so much fun.
Yes, it's true- we had the perfect view to compliment a perfect couple. But before we got to the this point (lovely sunset photos at the summit of Craggy Gardens) their engagement session had to be rescheduled- the Blue Ridge Parkway had closed down on their original date because of some intense wind and fog! Although that was a bummer way to get things rolling, rescheduling ended up being the best thing - and the view extra worth it.
One of our favorite things about the hike at Craggy Gardens Pinnacle Trail is not just the incredible mountain views, but lots of tucked-away, covered places to hide away until the sun is *just right*. Before we got to the perfect blue-hour lighting we kept Christy and Josh together by the rugged rhododendron bushes, dubbed 'Harry Potter trees' by Christy. Not only were the perfect romantic backdrop for some true fall foliage, but allowed that golden glow to really pop. Also, can we talk about these perfectly coordinated colors?!
The reason Christy and Josh picked Craggy Gardens for their engagement session is really quite simple- it's the place they got engaged. Right on top at the pinnacle is where Josh got down on one knee and asked Christy to be his wife. Of course, she said YES! Getting their engagement session done on the trail where that special moment happened was an absolute must.
With some of the most stunning views surrounding them, Christy and Josh had eyes all on each other. Josh knew the perfect ways to make her laugh, and when she did it seemed just natural to laugh along. The joy she radiated throughout our time together had us leaving on cloud nine. I remember leaving their session complete giddy, going through the photos and blabbering on to Jeff about HOW INCREDIBLE the whole evening had been. Because it truly was. The light was perfect, the views were perfect, but Christy and Josh took the cake for what made it special.
Congratulations on your engagement, Christy & Josh! We are so thrilled for what's next for the two of you, and so grateful we got to be just a small part of your journey together.
