Anna & David's Texas Inspired Wedding | The Pavilion at Pepper Plantation

Anna & David kicked off our year as the first 2016 wedding for us this year! We've been having so much fun with brides & grooms all over the South this spring, so we are just now getting to blog this beautiful day- and boy, are we excited to share it with you! This super fun, Texas-inspired wedding is definitely one for inspiration, so grab your cowboy boots and join us for the ride!

Anna & Davie | Asheville Wedding Photographer | Woven Strands Photography

April 22nd, 2016. The perfect day for a wedding. Bright blue skies, hardly a raincloud in sight. The South Carolina air was warm & muggy, but there was a subtle summer breeze from the lake. Stepping onto the plantation that day felt just like stepping into the Texas countryside. Hay and cowboy boots were scattered across the venue, strategically placed to make guests feel right at home immediately. Of course, there was more to see than country charm- Anna & her girls completely stole the show!

We started our day out at the little barn house immediately inside of the plantation. But that's just where the fun began!

In more ways then just dress and hair, Anna put her own touches on the Pavilion at Pepper Plantation in perfect DIY fashion. From gorgeous rustic touches to southern lacey charm, Pepper Plantation really felt like a cowboy's getaway for the night.

Don't even get us started on the ceremony!

One fun and unique fact about Anna & David's Reception-  It started off with a country-inspired line dance, which was taught to all of the wedding guests and performed to (near) perfection. Never before have we seen a group line dance done at a wedding! What followed was dancing and speeches and drinks galore!

Of course, our absolute favorite part of any wedding is those moments we get to sneak the bride and groom away for photos of just the two of them. Let's be real- weddings are fun, but also exhausting! Capturing photos of just the new Mr. & Mrs. gives them a break to relax and talk with each other- and easily produces some of the best photos of the day! Plus, David and Anna were just so contagiously fun. Their personality together is undeniably adorable, and we loved having a few moments to focus on the two of them.

Our Year Review || 2015

2015 flew by so fast! It seems like just yesterday, 2015 was around the corner and we were gearing up for a New Year. At that time, we had only been in business for a month, and were anxious about 2015. How many weddings would we get the chance to shoot? How many new and interesting families would we meet? Would people continue to like our work as we grew as photographers?

May 2015

May 2015

Our first 'big' event was a gorgeous vintage-inspired wedding at Alhambra Hall. It was the perfect first introduction for what large weddings entailed and looked like for us- and we fell completely in love with every aspect of the wedding day.

After that wedding, spring came and went oh so fast. We had our share of ups and downs. Some mistakes were made and new experiences were shared. Because of these springtime 'growing pains', Woven Strands Photography became better then we could have hoped for. All of our spring brides took a chance on us, and for that we are oh so grateful.

During this time, we found out we were pregnant with our first child! We were worried about our future couples and how they would react, and how our business would fare, but our summer & fall brides embraced our growing family and trusted us still to document their beautiful days. These fall & summer weddings is when our style finally came to completion. Photo-journalistic, bright & airy with a hint of drama.

In October, we welcomed our new baby, Joy Elise. In those months following, we took a break from the intensity of weddings and got to focus on the families who choose us to document their lives.

Tonight, the final night of 2015, we pick up where we started. We're joining a beautiful couple tonight at Alhambra Hall to celebrate their 'I do's' until the New Year comes ringing. What better way for us to celebrate a year full of challenged, change, and growth!?

Woven Strands Photography has grown much more in 2015 then us two newly-wed, starry-eyed photographers could have even imagined in the beginning of 2015. We are so grateful to God for his continuous favor, for our brides & grooms for their trust and referrals, and of course the families who encourage us and allow us to document another beautiful stage of life.

It's been a good year, 2015. Here's to many more!!

Kt + Troy | Pepper Pavilion Plantation, South Carolina

They say getting married in June produces magical things, and that is so true for Kt + Troy's beautiful (and dare I say?!) magical wedding. Their wedding was one of the most emotional and tear-jerking ones we have been honored to attend so far- and we are so honored this gorgeous couple choose us!

Their wedding was a little bit shabby-chic rustic, and took place at the Pepper Pavilion Plantation. Although the sun was roasting, it couldn't take away the joyful spirits of everyone around!
